Great Photos! The house with the thatched roof certainly gives the clue that it isn't in Australia (if you ignore the sign post!) Keith Title: Re: Local Scenery Post by: TTV6FC on April 10, 2009, 08:17:10 AM Yep,as Keith said. The cars look right at...er...home... in those photos. ;)
Title: Re: Local Scenery Post by: NosFEratu on April 10, 2009, 09:18:02 AM Hi Paul
The shots look great - was this the inaugural outing of "The International FE FC Fleet of Ireland" ? Kathi Title: Re: Local Scenery Post by: jack_fc on April 10, 2009, 10:28:49 AM Thanks for those pics of the International FE FC Fleet of Ireland, Paul; bloody fantastic! The one of the cars in front of the cottage is hauntingly familiar for some reason... cheers jack Title: Local Scenery - a few more Post by: Paul In Ireland on April 10, 2009, 11:36:00 AM Just a few more - the first shows Hugh, it's him I do all the cars with over here:

Would look great in black and white.
Can never get sick of looking at old photos, even though yours aren't old, the black and white ones look old. Thanks Janette Title: Re: Local Scenery Post by: EffCee on April 11, 2009, 11:55:09 AM Paul,
Like Janette said, absolutely love the photo in front of the castle, looks great. Certainly nowhere in oz has a castle that looks as aged as that one. Keith Title: Re: Local Scenery Post by: Paul In Ireland on April 11, 2009, 08:53:19 PM Just a few things about the photos.
The cottage has a plaque stating year of construction 1399. The "castle" is part of the old town wall fortification of Youghal in County Cork. It would date older than the cottage and older than 1275. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youghal if you are interested. Makes a 50 year old car a bit of a pup! 8) Title: Re: Local Scenery Post by: Paul In Ireland on April 11, 2009, 09:03:08 PM In fact, you can see in the bottom of this photo where I was when I took the shots:

Paul, that cottage in the pic I sent you is considered VERY old around here (early 1850's) By comparison, it's ultra-modern, to be sure, to be sure.... :) :) :) |
