I have recently got some Yella Terra roller rockers 2nd hand. I don't have much experience with them. I noticed that there was a bit of play in the centre bearing of some of them and also with the end roller - the bit that contacts the valve, i'm not sure if this is usual as it doesn't seem to be consistent with all of them. I also noticed that there is what appears to be rust pitting on the end rollers of two of them, its a definite band what I would assume has resulted from being in contact with the top of the valve for ages (i.e. motor sitting) and rusting on the contact patch. What I would like to know is can you rebuild roller rockers i.e. service centre bearings and the end rollers. They look like they could be pulled down. Has anyone done this? I will be sorely disappointed if this is not the case as I still paid a fair amount for the set (they aren't street terra's) and I know that the 'flaw' in the end roller like some of them have will lead to excessive wear and almost certain failure.... Otherwise the look very serviceable. Sorry if I haven't used the correct terms for components; by centre bearing - I mean the big central bearing that the whole rocker pivots around and the end roller - the small roller that contacts on the top of the valve. any help and info, no matter how general would be greatly appreciated!!! I'm pretty sure all those parts are available, one of the advantages of using roller rockers. check out the yella terra web site. Here's a video of mine. (http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t167/70XU1/Misc/th_Video078.jpg) ($2) these are ERSON lifters on a custom grind solid cam and lifters. What cam and lifters are you running? Is it a solid or hydraulic? Hydraulic will pre-load the rocker so there shouldn't be any play whether the valve is open or closed. With a solid lifter you'll need to run a valve clearance which with the valve closed will allow lateral movement. I run 14 thou cold but apparently should be running 20 thou hot. Thanx 70XU1 for the vid, has easyed my concerns regarding the centre bearings. Thanx Ed, checked out the Yella Terra site and it appears that they do sell spares.... Last few times I tried to check out that site it was under maintenance (for quite I while I thought), Hence why I didn't try looking earlier.
