Title: Re: my 57 fe special Post by: EffCee on May 04, 2009, 06:31:01 PM It is so annoying to leave an item with a a "professional" only to have them mistreat or damage the car or in this case the panel.
Thankfully it's only the bonnet and not the shell, find a reputable person who does what you require, who ideally specialises in older cars, that will treat your vehicle with the respect that it deserves. Hopefully the place that damaged your bonnet will replace it. Good on you and your mates for hooking in to have a go to have it finished for when your parents renew their vows. Good luck with it. Best of luck with it and hope you find some actual "professionals" to deal with along the way. :)

The biggest problem i found was lack of fuel borrowed a friends electronic fuel pump and that fixed that problem. first hurdle cleared and it brings great satisfaction and huge releaf, time to look at the body now how scary. Title: Re: my 57 fe special Post by: ashfe on October 01, 2009, 06:19:37 PM finally have removed surface rust treated with rust inhibator and etch primed ready to address the rust that is now visable. Poor compessor is over the sand blaster no doubt but was not prepared to send body to so called professionals. shipped off to a mate who is a sheety only prob is every time i go ovon car we end up working on his project (lx hatch back with ls1 and 6spd great power to weight ratio ) hopefully drag him way to work on my car this week end.
