Post by: oldgmh on March 14, 2009, 09:34:19 PM
I need 4 new brake cylinders for my FC.

Are they still available somewhere  ??? ???

or do I have to get the existing ones re-sleeved   ??? ???

I wonder if hoppers stoppers have them ......  ken? ....

thanks.   ;D

Resleeving is the only option now. Any good brake shop can get it done for you.

thanks for the replies.

I pulled the existing leaking wheel cylinders off the car and after cleaning them up, found they had already been resleeved with stainless steel.

The pistons were stuck quite solid but with a bit of hammer persuasion they came out.
The front cylinders had steel pistons which were pitted while the rears had alloy pistons that were in better condition.   ??? ???

Have fitted new cups and they should be okay.   ;D

(The car had been sitting for about 10 years)
