Title: Selling my FC
Post by: fc_1958 on March 05, 2009, 08:35:36 PM
Long time since I posted. Never got round to restoring the old girl.

Things have changed and I am now selling my old FC.

Ebay Item #230329282585

Hi there,

You say that the paint is original, but when I put the numbers into the ID Plate Results, the colour comes up as India Ivory over Granite Grey. Is the ID plate the original ID plate.

Just curious because I have the same coloured FC and the ID plate says it is India Ivory over Granite Grey.

Regards
Janette

I assume it is original cause it looks old - see fading on roof.
Also the inside colour matches outside.
The paint was old looking when I got it so assume it was never done up.

As far as ID Plate it was there when I bought it so I don't see why anyone would change it.  ???

Seeming your ID plate produces the same result, the look up data might be wrong?

It's far more likely that the car has been resprayed at some point in its life, hate to break it to you.

The trim number and the paint numbers both agree that it was originally ivory over grey. All grey, grey/grey and grey/ivory cars, and most ivory-only cars had red interiors. It definitely wouldn't be the first grey car to get a red jazz up. (And yes, I know there's a lead-in there to one of the forum's favourite topics of banter: please bear in mind this is the man's For Sale ad.)

All that said, it looks like a pretty honest old bus, with some nice accessories. Best of luck with the sale.

cheers

Congratulations on selling your FC. Hope your happy with the price. It looked like a great car. It was my FC's twin.

Thanks Janette

I was hoping to get around the 4K mark so I was extremely pleased with the out come.

Had the last drive today when I took it to Toll to be transported to the North of Western Australia.

I think I will miss her, but she is way overdue for a revamp.

That's the advantage of an auction - you can get more than you thought.

It also goes the other way so take it that you "done good" this time around...

Congrats.

Was the car headed west via Adelaide by any chance? We spotted a similar car (briefly) on a car carrier heading into Adelaide just outside of Gawler.

More then likely you are right Stinky - the car is heading to the North West to Broom via Perth.

An additional expense of $1,800 for the buyer.

Also the Number Plates will be of no use once it is in WA.

I always start any item that I sell on eBay at the price I want with no reserve, hence no disappointment for me and no stuffing the buyer around wondering what the reserve is and if it does not sell then maybe I was asking too much   :)
