Title: FE/FC bench seat brackets Post by: slim on December 28, 2002, 10:03:30 AM I was wondering if anyone knows, did the FE come out with wooden brackets under the bench seat as compared to the bakerlite brackets in the FC. As recently I have wrecked several and all the FEs have had wooden brackets. Is this just a coincidence or is it common. Has anyone had an FC (original) with the wooden brackets?

They do tend to crack with age and rough roads. The ones you have wrecked may have been replaced with wooden spacers due to age.

not having installed my seats yet...what's their purpose?? do they go under the front bracket or the rear one? are they just for height adjustment? I reckon a metal sleeve in the holes would be some protection against that happening. RET |
