Title: migs again Post by: Jordo on February 19, 2009, 09:27:15 PM I know you 've heard it all before, and I have read through the old topics but I am looking at purchasing a mig, can anyone reccommend what brand I should get
Cheers Craig Title: Re: migs again Post by: FC427 on February 19, 2009, 09:58:10 PM Keep away from the cheap one's with the Aluminium windings they have a lower duty cycle and also lose amperage as they heat up...If you get a machine with around 200amps you will be able to weld most thicknesses with good penetration ...Esab or most of the BOC [CIG] welders are good most of the Italian made machines are sub standard ......FC427.......

The search can be a little tricky, the search "mig buy" gets you the answers Plus there's info here - http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,5673.msg32167/topicseen.html#msg32167 http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,9807.msg58491/topicseen.html#msg58491 http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,3310.msg16651/topicseen.html#msg16651 Title: Re: migs again Post by: Spinner on February 20, 2009, 11:02:58 PM Only one brand to buy, the original.
