Title: Front Mudflaps
Post by: Paul In Ireland on February 16, 2009, 01:04:33 PM
I had tried to get some from Rares last year but they are out of them - where else can I get a set or does anyone have any to sell?

Cheers

Thanks Rabbitoh - do they have a website? Time zones make phone calls sort of awkward.

Hey Paul
No website and no email listing anywhere.
You will have to use the dog and bone.

Hi Paul

I've left a message on their land line for them to give me a call back about availability and price of FE-FC front mudflaps.

I'll PM you when they respond to let you know the deal - if they have them we can then work out how to get them to your parents or to you in Ireland.

We'll work out the logistics once we find out if they have them.  :D

Paul,

If you don't want ridgey didge ones, Supercheap Auto sell front mudflaps of teh same pattern, for about $12.00 (mebbe $17.00) a pair.  They sell both kinds of rear mudflaps too, teh type that extend from the rear wheelarch and what they call trailer mudflaps, which are similar in size & shape to the rear mudflpas fitted to FE/FC which allow your car to wear rear spats.

Brett,

I had a look at supercheap website but couldn't see them. I would not be necessarily thinking Nasco flaps - there is a pair of front ones on ebay but $100 for the pair is a bit high for me. Do you know if there are pics of both types of rear flaps?

Cheers

Still haven't heard from Martin and Claire from Obsolete.  Just called their landline again and left another message for them to give me a call.  :-\

OK dokey Paul

I just spoke to Martin from Obsolete.  He makes the mudflaps to order (front $80pr & rear $80pr) - they are a replica of the original complete with Nasco logos on them.  I told him I'd get you to contact him by e-mail at mcfrigo"at"optusnet.com.au so you can discuss your needs and postage arrangements.  Now don't forget to change the "at" to an "@"  ;)

I also asked Martin about the brackets - he said I needed to speak to Sam at Shepparton on 03 5822 1379.  Well I just spoke to Sam - he does a full set of brackets (2 front & 2 rear) for $120.  Pair of front brackets = $70 and pair of rear brackets = $50.  He's more than happy for your parents to drop in on a trip and pick some up if you need them or he can arrange postage.  Sam also does the stainless steel scuff plates - check out this link on the FB-EK forum.  He said to PM his son Jeremy aka "Crupi" on teh FB/EK forum and you two can "talk" that way  ;)  http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5160

Hope this helps  :D

I reckon I want a real good set for the ute as the FE is OK really. However, there are 2 types of rear ones by the sound of it - does anyone have pics of each type?

Hey Paul
Pics of original mudflaps and fitting instructions can be found in the Club Member only Accessory of the week.
Go to AotW thread - click on complete list at top of forum - look for the pic of the accessory you want and click on it - this will take you straight to that thread. Much easier than going through pages of over 200 accessories.  ;)

Alex

Paul, only 1 type of genuine rear mudflap - non-genuine are a different type and much cheaper.
