Title: Replacing windscreens
Post by: Paul In Ireland on February 12, 2009, 10:26:08 AM
I have a cracked windscreen and I was going to drill a small hole and stop it from spreading. Then I think I may be better just putting a new one in as the insurance has windscreen cover anyway.

So, will my window guy have to get one sent from Oz or is there a code and this can be punched into a machine here - bit like paint codes reproduced worldwide. If it has to be sent, I wonder if 2 would be packed the same as one or is there a special one only crate for shipping them?

Cheers.

Hi Paul
No ....Cootamundra..
Needed to use Wagga branch as I shattered a windscrean on my way to Mt Gambia (nationals) at a town called "The Rock".
The service  at O'Brians was tops and Shannons Insurance were also great.
I have no doubt they would arrange to send you a new windscrean.
I don't know what it would cost as I never saw the bill for our windscrean as shannons looked after that end.

We've dealt with Ralph Moore for the vette - very happy with their price and service.  Couldn't see any reason why he wouldn't be the same for O/S delivery.

Plain ones are available if you shop around, certainly Ralph Moore can supply them. It surprises me that the banded ones always seem to be more prevalent, when they're not especially popular.
