Title: Re: Rare Spares Escutcheons Post by: zulu on February 15, 2009, 12:01:35 PM Spinner may be on to something there, if they are paint over clear plastic you may be able to un paint them? or see if they will supply them un painted

Sooooo, the upshot of this was that R/S were not going to make them because it was all too hard to make a new set of tools. I have convinced them to make a batch of FB EK ones without black paint as suggested by Spinner and they will be made with the next order run of FB EK escutcheons - this could be a while as they need to sell about 80 % of stock before ordering a new batch. The downside of course is that they will not be 100% genuine original in design and this will probably upset a few people, but most others will be happy to get a product they can use which looks pretty much like the original. I guess I will have to have a close look at the escutcheons on the dash to see how obvious/noticeable the missing diecast inner would be. It's a bit hard to picture. cheers RET |
