I need a smallblock pushrod to get a 307 Chev engine running on the shed floor.

Has a snapped pushrod inlet no 5 cyl ATM.

If ( once I get it running ) it turns out to be a good running engine then I'll spend the $$$ and buy decent pushrods and regasket and freshen up the engine.

Anyone sick of treading on old Chev V8 pushrods in their shed??

I'm still looking for a pushrod to suit smallblock chev V8.

Did have some organised via another forum but the bloke couldn't find them.

So am still needing one,

Have you tried your Holden Red six ones, I think they are the same.

Didn't know they were the same as chev, have plenty of red six parts here so will have a look.

Even if they aren't the same just grind the red one to the correct length. Or if too short you could make one 'adjustable' by cutting the pushrod, tapping the oil gallery,and then inserting some threaded rod.

Yep, I guess thats not a bad idea as I only want get the engine going to see whether it runs any good and has sufficient compression to last for a while.If its any good I'll shout it to a freshen up with some decent parts before it goes in my EK sedan.

Might just cut a red six one and weld it together.

Holden Red 6 pushrods are too long.
I've used 16 V6 Commodore push rods in my small block chev ;)
They are stronger than standard Chev ones :)

I can measure some up for you.  I have a jar of spares I was going to turn into some sort of garage art.

Yep, red six pushrods are approx 9.1  inches or so and from what I can find out chev ones are approx 7.8 inches although I could do a "cut and shut" on the red six rod to shorten it ( I only need one to see how the motor runs,not for normal long term use).

I think I've managed to get some thanks to a generous forum member but I'll chase up some Commondoor V6 ones as a back up if they'll fit.
