Title: generator light is on Post by: freddyc on October 10, 2008, 10:10:29 PM my gen light is staying on, and amp gauge is showing no power produced. Changed gen and still the same, could it be the regulator? or something else?
Title: Re: generator light is on Post by: FCGos on October 10, 2008, 10:49:54 PM Yes it could be the regulator but first check the wiring (the smaller ones) back to the battery and starter motor for any breaks or bad conections and also those to the regulator. A multimeter will help to determine if the circuit is sound or not, just set it on the OHM range to see if there is any resistance. Alternatively you can bypass the regulator to see if the light goes off but this is not a fix only a diagnostic. Also check simple things like the engine and body earths etc. Hope this helps cheers Wayne
