Title: Front Door Rubber
Post by: KFH on August 01, 2008, 06:44:32 PM
I am now starting to work on the body and have found the the original outer door rubber has, on the front of car side, an molded to it a  flat section that goes between the body and the guard.  Replacement rubbers do not have this profile.  What do others do?  Forget about this flat section of rubber?  I can attach a picture if necessary?

Unless you get NOS rubbers you will have to use a repro rubber without this flap. This is not a problem in itself, but a mistake a lot of people make is not replacing this strip of rubber when the guard is put on. It makes a slight difference to the way the guard fits and also stops water going between the guard and the body.

Thanks Ken
I had intended fitting a strip of rubber under the guard as you described.  You have reinforced my thoughts.
