Any tips on getting wipers to park properly? Mine only do when they feel the need to!

A lot of confusion and misinformation in there. DEFINITELY don't hook a positive lead to the other side of the switch!
The brass strip or wire from the motor to the body is the other logical place to check for earth faults. The circuit is very simple. Power through a fuse to the motor, then from the motor to the switch and from the switch to earth.
