Title: The cars of MotorEx.
Post by: customFC on July 05, 2008, 10:10:36 PM
Just got home from this years MotorEx show.
Great collection of top cars as usual, but this year we were treated to not 1, not 2, but 3 FC's. I took around 280 pics, so it will take awhile to get them loaded, but in the meantime, here's a couple to give you an idea.

Keep a lookout for the rest.

a guy at work has been goin on about his mates FC wagon being better than mine, he said its green and white, last week he said his mate was goin for rego and taking it to a show on the weekend at homebush, looks like this could be it.

Horses for courses Leon - I can't see that one getting too many stone chips on it!  Not for a long while at least! ;D

Having said that - everyone should be encouraged to build their to suit their wants and not worry about anyone else's opinions. Some very nice examples! Thanks for the pictures Alex.

Post by: NO NAME on July 05, 2008, 11:57:42 PM
maybe there was a issue with rego, apparently its got some $$$ spent on it,  the guy at work reckons there would be no other modified FC wagon built to the standard, did anyone see it close up?
looks like the door rubbers are at least new ;D

Title: Re: The cars of MotorEx.

thats a pretty big claim 8) 8)

I looked at it close up.  The door rubbers do look kinda new.  The rest of it doesn't look too bad either.  Dunno how many sun-visors it'll go through though.

The biggest issue with rego that I can see is that the donk is a little larger than 317 Cu In.  The guff on the car claims it to be a 350.

that could be a issue being a 350, surely he discussed the engine swap with a engineer, ive never seen the car, the guy at work said he had a green wagon with a chev and tubs that he was getting ready for a show in homebush, he reckons the guy joined the fe fc club, does anyone know him?

Yeh, the drivers door on the wagon has a bit of a gap in it, needs a bit of a tweak to get it to close properly I'd say....  ;) :D ;D

Its a fabulous looking car. Like Spinner, my first thought when I saw it was how is he gonna keep the visor on?  ;D

The orange ute is fabulous.

nice thing but my thoughts would be legal rego and those rear wheels are are just 2 things that are never gunna be used in the same sentence, but also where there's a will there's a way

very nice, the little torrie looks like you may need a pilots license aswell, certainly looks like a scary power to weight ratio.
cute number plate too, whats the answer to that ;D ;D

bloody orange ute stole my idea for heater controls  ;) ;) ;) but i do love the steering wheel a lot.

and just to be picky. not a big fan of the exposed battery in the back of the wagon, but thats just me....

but very nice cars nonetheless..

I just love that wagon, but it would have been so much cooler if the motor was kept under the bonnet and no hole. That is some serious rubber under there.I think it's so cool because they didn't mess with the body too obviously and colour scheme is nice too.The venetians are a nice touch...he he.. 8)

i agree, just saw a pic of the engine bay on another site and there looks to be some grunt in there, but a few things could've had a bit more attention to get it to the high standard that Leon was informed that it would be. still a very, very tuff looking wagon. would probably have a very mean rake on it 8)

... He had it to Power Cruz for a drive and then it's only been to the track once for a couple of runs 8.2 off the trailer with just a little boost should run in the 7's ........FC427.......

well the guy at work said his mate with the wagon is called Mich, Mich from brookvale, apparently he is a frequent on this forum, must be a lurker good secret keeper, apparently he took it for a drive last week and scared shit out of himself when he put his foot down. it looks very "MUSCLE MACHINES" style.
 Mich, are you out there?

Hey Leon
Your mate at work sure has a big mouth!!
As for the owner of the wagon, I believe he is a member of our club and a member on the forum. Just because he isn't on here raving about building his wagon, doesn't make it a secret. Just makes him different to you!!

Alex

well we are a bit the same these days because i dont really put updated pictures of my car on here anymore ;D ;D ;D if you are one of the few on here that want to see pics, look on other forums.
the guy at work isnt really my mate, just some guy who is a mate of this mich guy and yeah, he said he was a club member too, i just thought before anyone started bagging the hole in the bonnet and stuff i might let it be known it was a forum user so the usual shit doesnt happen with comments, sorry if i blew his secret.
I'll get up the guy at work tommorow for telling me shit and tell him to just keep talking about his old datsuns again.

Hey no-name,quite obviously it was me that mentioned about the hole in the bonnet and I was merely suggesting that in my opinion I would have tried to keep the intake under the bonnet.Something I may not have mentioned strongly enough is that I absolutely love the look of this car because it has the attitude of the big tubs but such a stock looking body.I hope the owner gets a lot of cred for such a nice job.... 8)

Hey Mitch.
Your wagon looked great.
Right at home amongst the show cars.
The display could be seen from across the room.
I had several people ask me if I had "checked out the wagon yet" whilst I was at the show. Even had someone tell me to "check out the wagon" before I walked through the front door.
Congrats on a standout car.
Look forward to seeing it moving......should look awesome on the road.
How about some build up pics. I am sure most would be interested.

Alex

Mitch,

I saw that car at Slim's, before he sold it.  You've made quite an improvement over what it was.

Those other two wagons at MotorEx were quite tidy cars too, beating both of them is quite an achievement.
