Title: EFI for 186 2 speed powerglide. need help with kickdown linkage? Post by: Damon on June 25, 2008, 10:22:32 PM hey guys,
am running a red 186 with a 2 speed powerglide and would love to convert the 9 port head to a 12 port EFI. The swap looks straight forward until you consider the mechanical kickdown. Has anyone ever run a 2 speed powerglide behind an EFI setup? What type of kickdown linkage was used? (By the way, i don't want to lose the 2 speed Tanny, It rocks)! Hoping someone can help? Please....... Damon. Title: Re: EFI for 186 2 speed powerglide. need help with kickdown linkage? Post by: FC427 on June 25, 2008, 10:54:18 PM Damon It should be possible to hook a cable up like the early trimatic's in LC Toranas etc for the kick down I did a similar conversion on a F##D that used the kickdown rod from the carby linkage and it wasn't that hard,, and don't forget to drill the holes in the block to suit the blue black 12 port head and Commodore extractors will fit with only a little modification hope this helps ........FC427.......

Im familier with the early trimatics (had one in an HG). These are in fact a bit diferent to the Powerglide, but I guess that It could be done, (anything's possible).
Would still love to hear from anybody that may have done this. :-\ Cheers, Damon. |
