Title: engineers Post by: NO NAME on June 21, 2008, 06:13:31 PM how much is a cheap engineer these days for a red? i assume i have to get a angineers certificate again when i go to register.
Title: Re: engineers Post by: ratbox on June 21, 2008, 09:15:33 PM has it been engineered with the red before, if so do you still have any paperwork from last rego, what is the engine standard size 179,186 202 etc
Title: Re: engineers Post by: Paul In Ireland on June 22, 2008, 09:12:03 AM Sigh... :-\
It hurts me to read the pain some of you guys have with engineers and getting stuff back on the road. Over 30 years old here is also past needing a pink slip, modifications or not, just go put it back together and drive. Oh, you tell the motor tax office you have a new engine and you give them the number for the records..... 8) Title: Re: engineers Post by: NO NAME on June 22, 2008, 09:52:54 AM yeah, it was engineered with the red before but i lost the papers, so it has some number on the rego label but thats all i have, infact my engineer then gave me a master and duplicate and this silly bitch at castle hill rta told me first she didnt need any, then she needed both, that was the last i saw of my engineers certificates, that was about 1997 or 1998.
i still have the same motor (179), now with a 202 crank but i have made chnges underneath wich i regret. Title: Re: engineers Post by: FC427 on June 22, 2008, 10:35:08 AM Leon you are allowed to make changes, It's usually OK to add things on as long as you don't take things off ...PM me your address and I will come over ''maybe'' I can put your mind at ease on some of the things you have concerns about ......FC427.....
Title: Re: engineers Post by: NO NAME on June 22, 2008, 10:37:40 AM the car is unregistered, is the engineers report still valid?
Title: Re: engineers Post by: FC427 on June 22, 2008, 10:45:11 AM the car is unregistered, is the engineers report still valid? [/quote It should be still valid but I was told by an engineer that the RTA does not keep copies of the engineers reports it is up to the individual to keep them HOW TRUE THIS IS I DON'T KNOW sorry not much help ......FC427...... Title: Re: engineers Post by: ratbox on June 22, 2008, 12:08:40 PM can you contact the engineer, is he still around you could possably get a copy
if the car is more or less the same you should still have no probs if you can come up with some paper work the RTA can be a total head f#%$k paul sorry but i'll put up with the RTA and engineers and live in AUSTRATIA rather than ireland Title: Re: engineers Post by: EffCee on June 22, 2008, 12:31:47 PM paul sorry but i'll put up with the RTA and engineers and live in AUSTRATIA rather than ireland Where is AUSTRATIA ??? ??? ??? ??? I am here happily living in AUSTRALIA ;) ;D ;D ;D Keith F4+ ;) Title: Re: engineers Post by: NO NAME on June 22, 2008, 01:09:22 PM i dont, australia is ok but last time i had to go through engineering and a blue slip i almost lost the car.
its been out of rego for more than 3 months so does it need to get a certificate again? Title: Re: engineers Post by: Revhead_Fc on June 22, 2008, 05:50:18 PM Hey Leon
last time my wagon ran out of rego and had to go thru all the blue slip crap my engineers certificate that I already was ok so NO you dont need to get another certificate again aslong as you still have the old one it will be valid Cheers Ben Title: Re: engineers Post by: NO NAME on June 22, 2008, 06:53:03 PM , ok, thats good if it works, but when i got my first one the silly bitch at castle hill rta took my master and duplicate. at first she didnt know what it was, i had to talk her into looking at it, then she took both copies so i have nothing on paper, just a number on my rego sticker and the engineer has dissapeared, anyone heard of or seen a Aandy shankeranko, he was in newcastle then, business was called A&A automotive or something.
Title: Re: engineers Post by: ratbox on June 22, 2008, 07:04:13 PM :-[ EffCee Austratia is where dislexic Australians live :-[ still gotta be better than ireland
i useally read what i've ritten to check for misstakes that aren't intentional Title: Re: engineers Post by: customFC on June 22, 2008, 11:36:29 PM Ring the RTA at Castle Hill and ask them if they have them on file somewhere.
Someone once told me that the RTA where they were submitted keeps them. I don't know if this is a fact, but can't hurt to ask. If they don't have them, ask them where you stand. If you get a positive answer, ask for the persons name so that you can refer to what they said when the time comes. Regards Alex Title: Re: engineers Post by: Rusty_T on June 23, 2008, 11:43:52 AM ???
Leon, When my Wagon was engineered, The copies were distributed like so: 1 X copy to the Blue Slip Bloke (His records) 1 X copy to the Engineer (His Records) 1 X copy RTA (There Records ) 1 X copy glove box ( Your records and in case the local constable wants a look) Now the Engineer and the Blue Slip bloke you used in the first place should have a copy on there files. Hope this helps you track them. Cheers Rusty Title: Re: engineers Post by: NO NAME on June 23, 2008, 06:57:51 PM i tracked down my engineer, he has moved to queensland, i called him today, he said he sent a box of 2500 certificates to the rta about 5 years ago and got them back all shuffled and out of order and it may or may not be in the box wich would take forever to sort, when i got home i had a email from him asking for my adress becuase he found my certificate.
He said rta would not give out the certificate unless the car was in a accident were someone was killed becuase it was too much effort to look in the files. Title: Re: engineers Post by: customFC on June 23, 2008, 09:05:40 PM Hey Leon.
Ya gotta be lucky sometimes. That should help move things along. Regards Alex Title: Re: engineers Post by: FC427 on June 23, 2008, 09:14:30 PM Leon looks like you might make The All Holden Day now .......FC427.........
