Title: Re: engine towers Post by: mcl1959 on June 15, 2008, 09:15:54 PM Most people use Torana columns but Commodore or HQ-HZ are also OK - depends what combination of dash controls or column controls you want to use. Early Torana are good because some models had nothing at all on the column so all original dash controls could be used.
The rust panels are supposed to be cut down to fit the size you need - simply cut with snips or cut-off wheel and discard what is not needed Ken Title: Re: engine towers Post by: rod67 on June 15, 2008, 10:00:56 PM thanks for repying the problem i have got are they are to wide to fit in to chassis kit mounts thank you again rod
Title: Re: engine towers Post by: Revhead_Fc on June 16, 2008, 12:27:31 AM Hi Rod
I have just had the same problem what i did is sliced them down the middle with a 1mm cut off wheel and welded them back together its a snug fit now you could use a thicker cut off wheel but i think it may be too narrow then Hope this helps Ben Title: Re: engine towers Post by: FATBOY on June 16, 2008, 07:03:04 AM i got my under floor braces bent upto original widths by a sheet metal place also they made them out of thicker material

Title: Re: engine towers Post by: mcl1959 on June 17, 2008, 06:28:53 PM You should be able to cut some off a HKTG front end as these are not so sought after as a HR units.
