??? :-\ Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: TTV6FC on May 25, 2008, 08:37:29 PM I wouldn't worry too much, they're still good photos even the second time round.I like the FE with the FC bonnet mascot....Just goes to show FE's and FC's can live in harmony... Maybe the owner thought "there's just not quite enough chrome on this car"...here comes the can of worms ;D

Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: pedro on May 26, 2008, 12:50:12 PM MMMMMMMMMMMMM CHROME ::)
Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: EffCee on May 26, 2008, 04:17:15 PM I must admit I like it either all or nothing. To me the FE looks half finished, compared to the FC.
Yet on a ute or van with the painted headlight/tailight surrounds the chrome grill looks out of place and looks like it should be painted. But I do like Chrome...... ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 26, 2008, 04:31:11 PM Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! :P
Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: EffCee on May 26, 2008, 05:01:04 PM Kathi,
Your car has so much shine on it you can use the whole car as a mirror (and that's just seeing it from the photo's) If you put more chrome on it would just like switching the light on in front of a mirror. ;) Keith Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 26, 2008, 05:11:04 PM Thanks Keith! 8)

RET Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: pedro on May 26, 2008, 06:44:58 PM You wouldn't be biased toward FE's would you RET ;) of course it was half finished it was a prototype :D ;D

I might have left it go if it wasn't for the FE comment ;D Cheers John Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 26, 2008, 09:25:07 PM hee hee Keith is my new bestest friend despite his FE comment - well new bestest friend for the moment! 8)

Please be advised that at times RET's judgement can be clouded when over come by the passion to protect his beloved FE's. As we all know 50 + years of history has shown that the FC is the superior of the two. It out sold the FE, Has more chrome. shiny bitz and accessories. As humans we all have a poor second cousin. As a car the FE is that poor second cousin. There is nothing really wrong with the cousin its just not quite the same. Its how can I say a sausage short of a BBQ, a sandwich short of a picnic. Its still good but just missing something. ::) ;) ;D Cheers Jim Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: FC0058 on May 26, 2008, 10:37:17 PM PS, Do not tell the FE owners on this site but my No 1 voted for peoples choice at the Nats was an FE Standard.
Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 26, 2008, 10:44:25 PM It's OK Jim, I won't tell anyone - your secret is safe with me. ;)
Truth be known, you were only just trying to boost that poor FE's self confidence! Kathi 8) Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: FC0058 on May 27, 2008, 01:05:17 AM Kathi
No need to boost its confidence as it was very well presented car that had been in the family its entire life. It was a fine example of a very well kept car. There was nothing fancy about it, it was an honest car, cared for and obviously the families pride enjoy. Both my wife and I agreed it was our choice on the day. Cheers Jim Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 27, 2008, 07:34:24 AM Go on, why don't you just get it over and done with and admit it - you're a closet FE lover! :-*
Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: FC0058 on May 27, 2008, 09:06:20 AM I will admit that I would love to have Robin's collection. I to would like to have a fine example of every style of FE FC that rolled out of the showroom. My wife is the stalling point, then there the fact that I move from state to state every few years. I need to settle in one place, build my shed and start collecting.
AND win lotto. Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 27, 2008, 09:34:14 AM AND win lotto. Jim - join the queue! ;D And John knows how lucky he is I encourage him to play cars and that he can safely buy me garage toys for presents! ;D Kathi 8) Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: pedro on May 27, 2008, 10:48:38 AM . Heeheehee good one Jim, I thought i was pushing my luck with the prototype comment, I'm surprised we haven't been chastised for being naughty boys yet, the FE supporters must be waiting till we've got our feet firmly wedged in our mouths before they start with the comebacks :D :DAs we all know 50 + years of history has shown that the FC is the superior of the two. It out sold the FE, Has more chrome. shiny bitz and accessories. As humans we all have a poor second cousin. As a car the FE is that poor second cousin. Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 27, 2008, 11:29:40 AM Pedro, sometimes it's just not worth lowering your standards! ;D
But Black Specials lowered with a nice set of flippers and whitewalls - well that's definitely worth it! ;D Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: FC0058 on May 27, 2008, 07:26:30 PM Kathi
I think the saying "go black and you will never go back" I think if I had a one tone black car it would have to be either and FE or an FC standard. To much chrome would detract from the paint work. Cheers Jim Title: Re: Princess of Tasmania Car Ferry Post by: NosFEratu on May 27, 2008, 07:50:15 PM Yeah, Jim but my comment is what paint? My car is, and has always been, seriously lacking it - but I'll leave it at that! :'( And no, it's not from polishing it too much ! :P
