Title: Cars 4 and 5 Post by: bill1ann1 on April 24, 2008, 02:05:08 PM Hello
I hope I,m not abusing this column, but I,m writing on behalf of William Scott[Bill] who worked, with 4 panel beaters from adelaide, on cars 4 and 5 at Fishermans bend as a body developer and pattern maker. Eventually working up to General Superindent of Experimental Engineering Thought perhaps I could find some old work mates Our e mail is bill1ann1@optusnet.com.au Regards Ann Engineering Title: Re: Cars 4 and 5 Post by: customFC on April 24, 2008, 11:37:16 PM Hello Ann
You may not have noticed this thread about an upcoming event that will include talks from Long time Holden employees from around that era. I am reprinting part of a thread that can be found in the events section. Regards Alex Quote Hi all, Just a reminder if you are planning on coming along to our dinner in celebration of the FC turning 50 years of age! We have secured 2 Holden Retirees as guest speakers; Both were Engineers. John Lee started at Holden in 1950 and Frank Pound in 1951. They are long time Friends and both have excellent memories and a wonderful sense of humour. We also have Jack Rawnsley, the last surviving Engineer that went to America to work and bring back the 48/215 proto types. We have also asked Hugh Videion to talk on behalf of Tom Molnar who, when he left Holden, went to PBR and help design and build the Repco head with Phil Irving & Charlie Dean which was first fitted to his FC. Please come along to listen to their stories as there are not too many Holden engineers left who had involvement with FE and FC and early Holdens. RSVP by Monday 28th April 2008.
