Title: Etch primer
Post by: GM on April 13, 2008, 11:25:21 AM
Can etch primer go over body filler where it feathers out to the bare metal, or should i just use a primer?
                      Thanks, Glenn

I've done this before and haven't had any hassles with it...yet ;D I don't know of a reason why it can't be.

Prob not much help but by the sounds of it if there's something wrong with it I've got more to worry about than you!! ;D

Regards
JSM

from what ive heard acids in the etch may not be compatible with acids if i use etch i usuallyturn the fan down a bit and just put one coat on the metal and dodge the bog, then i clean the gun, have a smoke and spray on the hs primer.

Thanks guys, I might try to avoid the filler as much as possible. I`m using acrylic.

Glen Acrylic is not so bad if you get it on the polyester putty ,just use a rag with thinners on it and wipe over the putty to remove the Etch and then Acrylic prime it ......FC427........
