Title: Part number ID required. Post by: FB_MAD on February 18, 2008, 10:45:48 PM Need an ID for a set of pistons I have here.
Stamped into top of piston is 7430515 and B9. I've got a feeling they are standard HD 149 High Compression pistons however my '48 to HD GMH Master Parts Cattledog doesn't list the number nor does it give it as a superceded number. Anyone know?? Cheers, Terry. Title: Re: Part number ID required. Post by: FB_MAD on March 05, 2008, 10:21:45 PM Not having much luck here :-\ :-\ :-\
Does anyone have a HR or HK GMH Master Parts book they could look up these piston numbers for me please. Part number 7430515 ( same as in previous post) . They are in a 149 which has a 3 7/16th bore and are flat top pistons with this number stamped into them and look to be genuine Holden pistons. A standard 149 has 3 1/4 inch bore so they are a fair bit oversize.I suspect they are an oversize 161 piston ( hence the HR/HK parts book info request to search for the number ) and I am interested to see exactly what pistons they are. From my calculations my 149 is around 167 cubes now with these pistons and 3 inch stroke. Any constructive help appreciated, Terry. Title: Re: Part number ID required. I'd say my 149 would have some very thin bore wall thickness after being overbored to fit 161 pistons in her but she's obviously happy as the rebore was done by a previous owner a while back by the looks of it and its had some miles on it with those pistons by the looks and still runs OK. Cheers, Terry. |
