Reverse lights were standard orange on late FC so is not a problem at all. Reverse lights must be white ONLY if a white lens is present for the purpose, eg FB / EK sedan and wagon.

Hey Mitch,

I've wired up the indicators as reverse lights.
I tried retaining my clear lens but couldnt find a double filament orange globe, so just used the later FC orange lenses.  The rego guys passed it.

I seem to recall reverse lights as being "optional" in NSW, even for a modified FE/ FC, things may have  changed though.

Cheers

Ed

You're right Ed, modified cars don't require reverse lights to be fitted. My modified FE was passed through engineering  no problems without reverse lights.  But I did manage to put orange globes in the FE with clear lenses by filing off the offset pin on the globe, so there is only one pin holding the globe in place. Been working now for over 6 years so I think it will last OK ;)
