Title: How to Fit Wheel Caps
Post by: perth_fe_ute on December 19, 2007, 11:12:08 AM
Hello All,

I have purchased some wheel covers and not sure how to fit them so they do not fall off. They fit on ok but there are no type of clamp to hold them on. What should I use? There is a hole in each wheel cap so I assume you drill a hole in the rim but not sure if this is correct.

What do you mean by wheel covers?  a full cover cap like a moon cap? or something else.

Sounds to me like you are talking about hubcaps.
You may not have the correct wheels.
The hubcaps clip over ridges on the rim and are a tight fit.
Some aftermarket rims don't have the ridges that are required.
Is this the problem?
A pic can tell a thousand words!!

sorry I meant hub caps.... wife and kids are causing me to loose my mind!!!

I will post a pic tonight after work. Yes I think you are on the money with a clip needed as there is a hope on the side of the hubcap. There is no clips on the inside of the hub cap. The hubcap fits snug onto the rim. Both the rim (13inch) and hub cap are hr.
