Wanted to know if any one has any info on the after market oil filters.I have got one which I fitted to my motor but when I went to fit the motor into the body it hit against the steering box.I presume this filter is for a earlier model. Can any one show me some photo,s or let me know if there was several diferent filter housings. Thanks,Regards Lincoln. Title: Re: FC Oil filter. Post by: mcl1959 on October 22, 2002, 10:14:09 AM Lincoln Lee, the correct FC oil filter screws to the side plate screws. 2 at the top and 1 at the bottom. It goes towards the front of the engine, clear of the steering box.
What state r u in. I'm sure meeting up with some of the guys in a local FE/FC club would be beneficial. Ken Title: Re: FC Oil filter. Post by: graham_fuller on October 22, 2002, 09:27:16 PM Lincoln,
If your in NSW (Sydney) I can help you. Regards, Graham Title: Re: FC Oil filter. Post by: RET on October 23, 2002, 12:06:40 AM It sounds like you've got it mounted aft of the coil. It should be mounted between the coil and the petrol pump:

Those decals can be purchased from the FE-FC Holden Car Club of Victoria. Contact Ken (ken@vic.fefcholden.org.au) for a price list. cheers RET Title: Re: FC Oil filter. Post by: mcl1959 on October 25, 2002, 09:35:17 AM Lincoln, sounds like you have a problem with the breather pipe. As you can see - the filter goes just behind the fuel pump, the breather pipe is just behind the filter.
The breather pipe bottom screw is attached to the sump slightly rearward of the outlet so that the breather pipe angles bak slightly. By the way - the Vic FE/FC club has a range of over 30 engine bay decals to suit FX to HQ. The FC aircleaner is $6, the oil cap is $5, the Bosch coil is $5 We also have gear lever lock decals which go on the quarter vent window, "NASCO" stickers in the diamond pattern in 3 different sizes, power brake stickers for the back window etc etc etc. Contact me for a price list and I will email it to you or I will see if I can get RET to post the list on the VIC FE/FC site.
