Title: scratch plates
Post by: corm on November 11, 2007, 09:05:10 AM
Hi,wondering if someone can tell me if the door scratch plates have a part number on them if they are genuine or just the little letters on the tags identifying which door they fit thanks.

There is no permanent part number on genuine FE-EK scratch plates.I've seen single new old stock scratch plates with part numbers on the back written in texta.

Ace,thanks for that i have set for sale and someone email me saying that they are nothing but a cheap reproduction, I thought the repo ones had nothing written on them at all and the genuine ones had the markings on the tags, also these are the frosted ones thanks again. wayne.

Hi corm,
The genuine ones are marked LF LR RF RR on the ears of the scratch plate. I haven't seen any repro ones to see if they are marked the same way.

Nono of the repro ones have the tag markings. Not sure whether the new R/S ones will have markings. I'm with Lizard, challenge him to prove it and state your case.

Thanks again fellas, I emailed him and stated my case(information that had come from this site) and challenged him to come on to the site and verify how he came to that decision but i doubt that he will. The reason that i did that is because i looked up his profile on ebay and he apparently owns a buisness selling old and repo parts for different types of cars.Regards wayne.

Hmmmm - that explains it, stand back & wait for an offer lower than what you're asking
