Is it marked 6 volts?

Yep that is the style that was fitted to FX/FJ and also some other cars as well.  If the radio has no voltage marking on it lift the lid and have a look what the voltage marking is on it.  The vibrator is a metal can about 35mm dia and around 90mm high with either 4 or 6 pins on the bottom of the unit.  2 of the pins will be larger than the rest.
