Title: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: GMB-58FC on August 21, 2007, 10:20:11 PM So this is what it looks like currently
(http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k131/benglover/FCbacon.jpg) this is what i was thinking if i stick with yellow (http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k131/benglover/BG_special.jpg) and this is what my partner wanted (based on the Corona colours of her GSXR :o ) (http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k131/benglover/GG_special.jpg) Personally id love to do a colour change but would be a HUGE job :-\ Its so hard to match yellow i dont know what else would suit/look ok, any ideas/thoughts??? Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: TTV6FC on August 21, 2007, 10:57:46 PM I think the colours of the chook would be better than the last combo.....He He ;DThe second one looks good.
Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: FC0058 on August 21, 2007, 11:08:44 PM My vote goes with the white over yellow. Would also look good in a 59 paint style.
Cheers Jim Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: Ed on August 22, 2007, 08:18:23 AM hey Ben,

The last one was a bit of a joke, more so than anything. I could never bring myself to paint a car like that even if it wasn't mine LOL. My vote goes with the white over yellow. Would also look good in a 59 paint style. Cheers Jim 59 style Jim??? hey Ben, those Gixxer colours look shit.. even on a Gixxer and even though I love Gixxers.. lol go the white over yellow I reckon ;) nice chook... Cheers Ed I dont mind the look of the Corona's in the 750's, not much of a fan of the 600 style though. The purple is a fantastic colour and i've already been told by Georgie that if she ever decided to build/do up a car its going to be that!!! Hey Ben, You dont have to worry about that chook .... it tasted very nice ::). But I do have a lot of others that we can colour match to your choice ;D regards Weddo :D im sure it was nice, i'll take your word for it though. Might have to come down and catch one of the little buggers so i can get the colour just right ;D Going to be getting stuck into the body work on the FC as soon as i clear some of the other cars from the drive :-\ Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: FC0058 on August 22, 2007, 06:14:22 PM Hi Ben
The link below will take you to the tech support page and gives you a look at the various paint schemes of the FC. Late 58 would look good, but my personal choice would be the 59 Yellow with white insert. There are some slight variation on the main scheme that from what I know varied from factory to factory. For instance CraigA & HarryB both have 59's same paint, one has gutters painted same as the insert and the other is the same as main body. The sunvisors are also done the same. Both cars look great but would look even better in my garage. http://www.fefcholden.org.au/techinfo/fcpaintstyles.html ($2) Cheers Jim Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: GMB-58FC on August 22, 2007, 07:13:25 PM Hi Ben The link below will take you to the tech support page and gives you a look at the various paint schemes of the FC. Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: tin_roof on August 22, 2007, 07:38:14 PM I am a bit of a stickler for originality paint wise, even on modified's. Why not paint the FC in it's original colours?
Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: NO NAME on August 22, 2007, 08:04:51 PM if you want to go 3 colours, loose the moulds and do a winfield job- http://www.customrodder.com/events/0607cr_2006_grand_national_roadster_show/photo_07.html
otherwise the 2nd from the top picture with all white at the back and yellow is probably the best way to have it without a major colour change. Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: Johns on August 22, 2007, 08:34:41 PM Ben,
Even simpler, since you have the FE mould below the rear window, why not use that to replicate the mid 1959 style ie yellow roof, white boot, quarters and window surrounds. IMHO its the best of the FC styles and the cheapest for you to do. It should look great. ;) Cheers John Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on August 22, 2007, 10:44:55 PM Go with Johns' idea, I like that style too. 8)

Should look sweet. Cheers Jim Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: craiga on August 23, 2007, 10:47:40 AM Go hell for leather here http://www.fefcholden.org.au/techinfo/painter/index.html
Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: NES304 on August 23, 2007, 07:44:12 PM 59 style Jim??? This is 59.... One tiny insert colour. Why not Red / White? There is a colour like this grey in the EH range of colours. (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y183/customfc5/BG_special2.jpg) Regards Alex Title: Re: My stealth daily and deciding what colours Post by: customFC on August 25, 2007, 08:42:05 PM Here's the 59 colour break.

Why not paint the FC in it's original colours? Because that would require a colour change and im trying to avoid that if i can as i have limited time and space ;D If i was to do a colour change i wouldn't stick with the original colours anyway ;) if you want to go 3 colours, loose the moulds and do a winfield job- http://www.customrodder.com/events/0607cr_2006_grand_national_roadster_show/photo_07.html otherwise the 2nd from the top picture with all white at the back and yellow is probably the best way to have it without a major colour change. IMHO its the best of the FC styles and the cheapest for you to do. It should look great. ;) Cheers John Its down to that or going with the white insert and surrounds only. Mmmm FE FC Hybride little, bit of each and a great paint scheme to highlight your car. Should look sweet. Cheers Jim Hopefully will come up ok once its done, its a budget build and as i use it as a daily i dont want to go too overboard ??? 59 style Jim??? This is 59.... One tiny insert colour. Why not Red / White? (http://i19.tinypic.com/6fote12.jpg) Again if i was to go anything other than yellow it requires a colour change which im really trying to avoid if i can for now. Thanks for all the replies though guys, it has given me ideas and i have "almost" made my mind up LOL. Alex i did a similar chop to the last one with the white and so far thats the winner for me but i do have one other thing in mind which im looking at 8) Cheers Ben |
