Seeing as Ed asked here are some shots of my current daily driver and my fun car. See if you can pick which is which, I know I struggle. The roadster was my only set of wheels last year for 8 months. Was a great eay to get around.....

Now my other finished car is a 1928 F#@d Model A roadster, built the old way.

And lastly an old sixties survivor, it  ran everything motor wise including a 186 upto a 427! Sorry I don't have any better pics its currently buried under EK parts :-\

Love the laced roof.
Did you paint it? If so is that a difficult technique to do?

Love the EK.. and the roof is very cool, is that a stencil underlay or airbrush or..???

Model A's are my fave rod, must be difficult to choose which one to drive.

I'd love to build a Model A RPU.

First up no I didn't paint the roof, although I did do most of the prep work. Candy is good BUT you need to know how to spray it to avoid patchiness.... I'm lucky to have a mate who used to paint for a living and loves candy and metalflakes.....

Here's a quick how to...

Step 1.
Paint  base colour first, spray chief silver base (extremely metallic/fine metalflake)

Step 2.
Mask up basic design, in this instance I wanted two panels.

Step 3.
Lay out material (lace, or in this case teraleens, you know that white stuff hanging in ya windows!) or whatever it is that has your chosen patern.
It doesn't need to be masked that much, just enough to hold it being careful not to distort the pattern. Mix some black in with the silver base then apply
a couple of light coats, remove the material and do a light coat or two around the edge to give it some definition.

Step  4.
Apply candy till a required shade is achieved.

Step 5.
Apply numerous coats of clear for depth! ;D ;D

And voila.....Instant cool 8)

All up there are about 15 layers of paint from the silver up through to the clear :o
and about 3 hours of cutting and buffing....

I have seen your roadster in the flesh and dig it's style.
Would love to build an A sedan some day.....fenderless and channeled with a stock roof height.
Hope to see the EK someday also.

makes me want to strip my roof... kind of.. well no.. the wagon roof is way too long.

Im glad to see your friend uses the silver affect to get a good candy apple finish.
