Hi Graham,
Colour Numbers (up to and including 1966 Dulux Book)
7452 Cascade White
7449 Gypsy Red
Do you have 2 new FE's Graham?
Cheers, Geoff_Kß

They're actually the BALM paint numbers for those colours. They each have a lead-enamel formula which I can supply you, but it's of no use to anyone. What you need to do is ring Dulux-PPG Technical Customer Service, tell them the name, the code and the year and they'll be able to find it and suggest two-pack or acrylic alternatives:

Hope that helps,

Graham, RET,
BALM paint appears to have morphed into Dulux by 1966, but codes remained the same.
To my knowledge no NSW club members have Cascade White car, although I know of a Cascade White over Etna Maroon FE special sedan registered in Sydney.
A car painted Cascade White over Gypsy Red or vise versa, although not a factory combination, could look pretty neat.
Cheers.

Geoff,

I was just making the point that Graham asked for acrylic paint numbers, which these aren't, that's all. There could be completely different colours in acrylic with the same numbers as these Duco codes.

Graham,

TTBOMK Gypsy Red only ever featured in a combination with Cabot Grey, as a factory finish.

cheers

Hi Crackers,
The original paint code for Adobe Beige is 2031
It was 256-2031 on the ID Tag.
If you phone PPG on the number listed by RET (earlier in this thread) they may give you the current codes*.
(*current codes for two pack, differ from codes for acrylic - PPG formulated Desert Tan for me in Acrylic, as it had been deleted from their computer system)
However, if you are not in the 'trade', don't know what you want, etc., you may get the flick by PPG before you get what you want.
Personally, I would get your favourite paint shop to get if for you.
