Title: Visit to Charles McCarron at Canowindra
Post by: Johns on July 18, 2007, 03:28:45 AM
G'day all,

Here are a couple of photos from the Sydney Club's recent trip to Canowindra to se 48-215 No 46, the fourth oldest surviving Holden, according to Don Loffler.

Other Club members will have better photos than these, perhaps some could be added.

As you can see the weather was ordinary and it was very cold :o

It was too dark to get good photos in the shed

Who's Charles McCarron? Aren't the local (memorial?) 'baths' named after him?

Beautiful town, Canowindra. A fitting home for the 4th oldest Holden.

 :)

Hi all

I have some photos of the trip as well and just got some more off Allan and Denise P of the "SHED" cars. I will scan them today and try to post a few. Have a few good shots of some "hot shots" in the corners before "Conrod" (A few Knocking)straight. What power those beasts have.

Go the Grey

Who's Charles McCarron?
Charlie was the Holden Dealer in Canowindra for 45 years, and still owns the premises. To visit it you might almost think that they locked up one afternoon, and didn't come back. It's a real time capsule.

It's for sale, too. Job lot around $2M.

cheers
