The project started today, I have donated the back off one of my wrecks and various other club members will be donating time and materials to complete the project.
First it will head off to Stephen Shepard's blasting business for a clean up, then some panel beating, fabrication and paint before coming back to my place for a re-trim.
Not sure how we are going to off-load it, there is a poll going for suggestions.

Hey Stinky,
How's the front half of the floor? I am interested if it's in fair shape as my van's floor is a shocker. (Some goose even cut out a portion of the under floor bracing over the gearbox rear extension >:(
Also need a front subframe in good nick?

Sorry Rabbitoh and anyone else, the rest of the car is spoken for.

Keen to see how this pans out, its something i want to do but not sure what car to source/use as yet.

Out of interest are you guys using any form of plans for the lounge or just common sense???

Work continues, today I welded in some square tube for general support and as a base for trim that will eventually go in. The rest of the trim framework will be either MDF or ply.
Next it's off to the club panelbeaters and spray painters.

A quick update, no pics.
Bodywork has now been finished by Scott Millar (collecta) and the lounge will be making it's way to Iain Burn's (itb) place for a splash of colour.

I have just got word from Protec Paints that they will be donating the paint and thinners for the paint job on the lounge.

Another sponsor for the lounge, you can't have a novelty lounge without a novelty number plate.
So I contacted a place that advertises such services but they politely declined but offered to sell at their normal rate (starts with "SH" and ends in "oom"  and I think there's a b in the middle ::) ).

After putting some the lounge together on the weekend the "good" bumper that was donated although straight was a little scratched and dull in places.
A quick phone call to ChromeMasters in Elizbeth West and we will have a nice newly chromed bumper to go on for the lucky winner.

The base is a combo of 70x35 pine and 12mm MDF, I have sat on it with no creaks or groans and I am well over 100kg.

A quick update, the chrome should be ready early next week.
So could someone from the WA Club can let Mick Slater know we haven't forgot about it, please.

Finally got the chrome last week, the plater lost my number  ::)
My back was good enough to let me finish the fit-up.
Anyway, it's still not quite finished as the bloke on the counter at the fastener shop short-changed me one bolt  :-\ I'll be contacting Paul Roberts and it will soon be on it's way to sunny WA!

Still spewin about that one bolt, getting them prepped to polish and realise there is one short. All the nuts and washers just one bloody bolt. Had to stand in line for ages with the little one slumped over my shoulder asleep to get them too, ahh the things we do  ::)
