Title: fuel filter placement
Post by: BAZZA on April 30, 2007, 06:47:33 PM
Where is the best place for a inline fuel filter before or after the fuel pump? I've got a 202 red motor with a standard carby. Bazza

Bazza,
Put the fuel filter before the pump as the filters are not designed for fuel under pressure.  I know someone who's car caught on fire because the fuel filter ruptured.  This ended up as a court case due to the positioning of the filter.

THANKS FOR THAT. I THOUGHT BEFORE WAS THE PLACE TO PUT IT AS THAT IS WHERE I'VE ALWAYS SEEN THEM. BUT THIS ONE IS MOUNTED AFTER SO I'LL CHANGE IT.
