These are pulling good money now. A couple on eBay lately, a 3.55 LSD went for over a grand, 3.36 one went for over $300.00 but was listed as being noisy/worn, haven't seen a 3.08 LSD on there yet. http://tinyurl.com/2nl5vu http://tinyurl.com/33f8ns I really wanted the 3.55 LSD but too much money. Has anyone fitted crown wheel and pinion from an open centre banjo to an LSD carrier? I have a spare 3.55 open wheeler and would like to modify my 3.08 LSD to a shorter ratio. And what about a mini spool - has anyone fitted one of these to a banjo? Good luck with your search Dave, and sorry to hijack your thread. The answer to my question might help you though as you may be able to repair a broken LSD by using two to make one. Cheers, Craig. Thanks for your help - I have pondered the same thing myself, but am unsure as well. Yes LSD centres sure are up there now. It seems especially so in Torana circles where they are so desirable. Hopefully I'll find one at a reasonable price! I could have had a reco 3.36 LSD for about $400 last year and I didn't grab it... ??? I just had a custom clutch made up and its a little hard to take off without chirping 1 wheel... I'll have to get better! Cheers Dave Title: Re: Banjo LSD centre Post by: brett_f on January 24, 2007, 08:50:16 AM G'day dave. I used to work at gm years ago but the memory is a little faded now about these diffs. I can recall the 3.08 and 2.78 diff housing were slightly different internally to make way for the larger crown wheel or pinion. you can use this housing for the 3.55 or 3.36 crown wheel and pinion but not the other way around. 3.08 and 3.55 were for manual gearboxes whilst 2.78 and 3.36 were for automatics. I know you wont like this but i gave away some new crown wheel and pinions and new lsd spider gears (course spline) about a year ago that i had when i worked at gm. If you use the 3.08 or 2.78 housing these have two large bolts at the bottom. Just put a bolt into the one with the stud and silastic it in. It wont leak. regards brett
