Title: Dizzy cap query
Post by: Rabbitoh on October 23, 2006, 09:33:01 AM
I have a new Bosch cap to suit the grey motor dizzy, but the central spring mounted electrode is missing? Is this the norm for these units? Should I transfer the one from my old cap to the new one?
(all the red motor ones I have bought in the (long gone) past had these electrodes, I'm sure.

Hello Rabbitoh
The cap definitely needs the center spring and electrode otherwise the current won't be able to get from the coil to the rotor button. If you bought it new than I would take it back for a refund , If not than you could try to swap it from the old one , but I don't know how or even if It can be done as I have never needed to do it.
