'Cos I got my CTP from them last year.....
In answer to the original poster, you could also try NRMA Classic. Although cars on Club Plates don't pay CTP, at least the people at the Classic desk know what an FC is ::) Title: Re: Green Slip Insurance Post by: gree on September 01, 2002, 12:30:55 AM i know this is slightly off the topic, but when i tried to get comprehensive insurance with nrma last year, they said they changed the rules and won't insure anything modified.
the girl at the desk brought up stats on the fc on her computer and showed me, and said 'if anything on your car is different we can't help you.' the engine capacity noted for a standard fc was completely wrong! (way under standard) i hope they fixed it because it would mean no-one would be able to insure their car even if it was a factory original! i really have a thing about insurance companies >:( but shannons does actually seem very reasonable. so i am glad someone out there caters for people who don't drive hyundais..... well i feel better. should have put this in 'rants, raves, and dummy spits' perhaps.... :) Title: Re: Green Slip Insurance Post by: craiga on September 01, 2002, 04:11:19 AM Fiona,
I am insured, CTP and Comprehensive, with the NRMA. With 60% no claim bonus, I pay $94.00/year for an agreed value of $8000.00, and the car must travel less than 8000km's (from memory). CTP is about $300.00, but I have 2 other cars, the house, and contents insured with the NRMA which reduces this amount slightly. Shannons quote for comprehensive was about 2.5 times NRMA, CTP was slightly more, maximum km's was less than 2000 miles (again from memory). Shannons are great supporters of the car clubs and their service really was excellent, but the NRMA deal was heaps cheaper. Car is stock except for a 149 red motor. I had to supply a picture of the car and a list of the mods for approval. Last rego/insurance was in April so maybe this was before Gree called them. Hope this info helps. Cheers, Craig. |
