So Pete, will you need a baffle or two in the fuel tank or will it be ok without them?Huh?
83  General / General Board / Re: Spotted a lime green van on: January 08, 2013, 03:19:57 PM
Thanks Pete, thought you might know about it. Shocked

yes you may be correct it could have been an EK, damn kicking myself for not turning around to try and follow it. (would have looked funny throwing the handbrake on with mum & dad in the back of thier own car pursuing an old holden)
84  General / General Board / Spotted a lime green van on: January 08, 2013, 11:47:39 AM
Hey guys whilst driving around Newcastle over the weekend I passed a lime green (kermet the frog colour) panel van, going the opposite direction  Cry this was exciting in one way but not in another as I didn't have the time to see it properly. I'm thinking it was an FC but could be wrong on that as it was a two second window of viewing opportunity.

I don't think I have seen pics on here or the web of it. Does anybody know about this awsome car?Huh If so some pics and more info would be great.

will you be running all the badges and chrome? or do you keep it bare and raw???
If so I agree the top one is similar to the Special Badge and looks very interesting Roll Eyes

Pete,
How will the weight of your FC be?, do you predict it to be much different from before you started?

91  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: Thinking of selling, need approx quote. cheers on: November 21, 2012, 06:38:27 AM
Wow looks like my old girl Sad

I sold one just like that a few months back for around the 5K.

Great old cars should demand some respect, selling it for 3k puts it in a used hyundai excel class. Don't cave in to the pressure, 60 year old cars especially FC's deserve more even if they cost a bit to do them up. it will also keep them away from the scrap metal market that bit longer.

Good luck with the sale.

Looking good Pete and just think it is nearly Friday again, maybe just maybe you can get that day at it again.

Also what do you coat these cool mods with?? (galmet paint, fish oil or what) to stop any chance of rust.

Bahaha, I could just see you sitting down the road waiting. As for the two weeks no FC time, I'm sure you will find something to do maybe take the boat out for a buzz around the lake or something.

Pete, you are making all of us envious but super excited as well to see the next lot of instalments. Keep up the good work especially if you can continue on the Friday FC DAY theme. You never know it might catch on across the country. Shocked Cool Grin

96  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Dam noises on: October 05, 2012, 09:34:11 AM
Wow Exhaust breaking off is super noisy, I remember going to work one morning at 4:30am driving along through the main street of Rutherford my exhaust did the same thing snapped clean off at the manifold (in my work commuter Camry Shocked). Will never forget that noise as I pulled up people came out from everywhere wondering what the racket was. A couple of cable ties and off back home 20 minutes of screaming engine noise was enough for me to get it home. Needless to say I had the day off suffering industrial deafness. Grin

This is just like reading a good book and the kids come in wanting all kinds of stuff, next thing you know you have renovated two houses and have them up for sale. Know where is that book.......

Well done on the sale Bruce, I hope you enjoy your holidays and all is well.
99  General / General Board / Re: transport car on rotisserie on trailer on: September 12, 2012, 07:33:13 AM
I'm pretty sure when I spoke to the same blasters they had several rotissseries and had done FC's before as well. Have a chat with them before you go as you may be waisting your time sending yours up there (forklift available as well).
I would sit the shell on a couple of old tyres and pull it down firm with the straps.
100  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC special sedan on: September 03, 2012, 06:45:50 AM
Just to let you all know this car has sold and has a new home, a very sad Saturday night for me but I'm sure a very excited one for Brendan who drove all the way from Windsor to get her.

I hope she does up nice for your wedding mate. I look forward to seeing the update photos as you progress.

Thanks all for your advice etc, and a big thanks to FC Hoon, Pete for posting the photos.
