G'day Paul, You can make one yourself out of the right thickness sheetmetal, I'm still using the one i made in about 10 minutes about thirty years ago, the outside measurements aren't critical and you can measure the size of the slot using an old door handle
as you can see it's worn and dodgy( like me ) but it still works fine.

My first car was an FC when I was 18. One day I had to fix the window winder assembly and obviously had to take the window winder handle off to get the trim off. Dad had a proper clip removal tool and it worked well.
When it came to putting the handle back on stoopid me put the handle on the shaft then spent a hellish and most frustrating long time trying to get the clip back on, of course it just does not work out this way.
Dad came home and saw the trouble I was having. He picked up the handle put the clip on it and placed it on the winder shaft and banged it on with his hand.
Took 10 seconds, he laughed I nearly screamed. The thought to do it that way never crossed the short distance across my brain.
Got my just desserts though, many years later I pulled up at my girlfriends house and came across her younger brother cracking the poos in his car. I sick in my head and find that he is trying to put the clip on the winder handle just like me years before.
Grabbed the handle put the clip on and banged it on and walked up the drive laughing with him screaming you bas%#$@ at me.
Absolute gold.
Cheers M

Stinky - Autopro? Not here...
Does the same size tool fit all the old cars? If so I could source one here.

Of course there would be no Auto-pro in Ireland...you would need to go to Supercheap Auto.
Sorry Paul, couldn't help myself.

You can use a rag/hankerchief, u wrap it around the opening of the clip like a horseshoe, and then pull back whilst just pulling on either end of the rag. Just be careful other wise you will find out why they're called a "Jesus" clip

Paul, do you have a workshop manual? It gives you the dimensions of the tool on page 33 of the FE manual.

Thanks guys.
Yes, I do have the manual - I'll look it up.
I also have spare Jesus clips just in case!
I'll try the rag idea and see how it goes.
