I am looking to possibly changing the diff in my FC Ute. Could anyone give any suggestions on an appropriate ratio which will give good cruising speed, but not to entirely compromise take off speed. Regards

Rod,
What motor?  What gearbox?  Presuming you have stock mechanicals, then the stock 3.89 diff can be swapped for a 3.55 ratio, which will achieve the desired result.  I have seen grey-powered vehicles fitted with 3.36 ratio, but I think going that low puts too much strain on first gear, grey gearboxes not being that strong in the first place.
Hope that helps, Richard
