General / General Board / Re: FC wagon, what to look for??

OK I had a look, was 100% complete, but been affected with the cancer pretty bad, but might be good for parts. Original owner even knew the purchase date, 9/9/59. Here's the plate details in order on the plate for Ken and others:
FC / 229 - 3757M 254-857 253-7773 253-5300 253-7773
There is a second FC Special wagon body shell to go with the car, was 80% complete, no motor or box but the plate could not be read, any tips on cleaning them up?
I'd post up some photos, but I can't seem to master the technology yet!!
Any thoughts on the plate of the other car??
Thanks
Peter

General / General Board / FC wagon, what to look for??
|

Hi there,
I'm looking at an FC wagon in Albury NSW this afternoon, has had a rebuilt grey motor (only 7000kms on that motor), is totally stock, good interior, but the car has been out of a shed and unused for 15 years! Comes with an incomplete body and some parts (not sure what yet!). I have a fair idea where to look for serious rust, eg floors, sills, lower guards, headlight peaks, tailgate, subframe and lower pillars, is there anything else I need to be mindful of? I can't hear the car going as it needs a battery and some TLC to get her going again (as I said hasn't been started for 15 years). He wants $1500 for the lot, does that sound reasonable from you guys who have bought and sold cars recently (seems a bit dear to me)? He says it has a little rust but not too bad. I will get some photos (including the ID plates also for the plate ID gurus here!). Any advice would be appreciated! I understand that after you see the pics it'll be easier to make comment on the price!
Thanks
Peter

Hi Nick,
That FC wagon (what's left of it anyway) seems to have at least one 13 inch 'Tasman' 5 spoke mag on it. I have a pair of these also, it would be good to have a set if you think the owner may sell?
Cheers

For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Yella terra or super flow head for 186

I have a high compression 149/161 head which gives a bit more HP over the standard head. They run well fitted to a 186, I had one on a HR I sold just recently. If you're interested just drop me a PM or email hz308prem AT bigpond dot com (with the usual changes to avoid spam!), I'm in Victoria.
Cheers

For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / FE FC speedo head wanted

Hi all,
I have found a good FC instrument panel that I want to add to my collection of bits and pieces I have on display, however it's missing the speedo head. Anyone got one that looks OK, doesn't have to work, just to look good for the collection. Happy to pay for postage. Please leave any replies here or send me an IM and I'll get back to you.
Many thanks
Peter

For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / FC sports wheel boss kit
|
on: March 21, 2005, 11:19:49 PM

Hi all.
I have at home a diecast boss kit to suit a unknown sports wheel (probably an aftermarket wheel from the 60s I would say). Has FC marked on the boss kit, so I would assume it'll fit. I have photos, if you would like to see them please drop me a PM with your email address or leave a reply here. It appears to be in good nick too.
Cheers

For Sale and Wanted / Other Stuff Wanted / 15 or 16 foot caravan wanted
|
on: March 08, 2005, 01:28:37 AM

Hi all,
Just wondering if on the off chance anyone in Victoria or southern NSW knows of a cheap 15 or 16 foot aluminium caravan for sale, around $1000. Doesn't have to be perfect, just as long as it's towable, savable, and can get a temp permit for the trip home to Albury/Wodonga. If you can help please send me a private message, reply here, or email hz308prem@bigpond.com
Thanks!
Peter
