G'day guys...
When I bought my FC wagon last month it didn't come with any keys...! (which might explain why it hadn't been driven for so long)
I took the lock from the passenger door and rang throught the code to the local locksmith. Next day she dropped down some keys which fit the passenger door, tailgate, glovebox and ignition.... Grin
Problem is it didn't fit the petrol cap....:-/
Question being, should it have fitted, and if not, what's the best way to go about opening the tank.... Is it possible to pick the lock...? or do I try and break it open...?

Cheers
Les...

Hey Les.
Trev is correct. The locks were sold as accessories and keys did not match. If the locksmith will not pick it at home, drop the tank and take it to her. She should be able to pick it. If you try to prise it off, you will likely stuff the neck or break the back off the cap, probably resulting in half of it in the tank.

Hi Les,
I have had to get the locking caps off a number of cars without keys.
Screw a self tapping screw into the lock barrell and attach a slide hammer and gently tap it out. Shocked
Then you can open the cap by inserting a screwdriver into the the cap and turning. Wink
A locksmith can usually fix the barrell and key the lock.
Alex suggested dropping the tank but the locking cap will not fit through the body.
Hope this helps

Thanks Alex and Ace...
I guess I'll see how I go getting the locksmith to call past. She lives only a couple-a-hundred metres up the road from me.... She's also after an FC wagon to do up and wants me to look out for one for her.....

Failing that, I'll revisit other ways I guess...
Cheers
