404  For Sale and Wanted / Cars Wanted / Re: FE Wagon on: August 19, 2005, 10:31:34 PM
I'm in Melbourne.
The less restoration the better (I have a sedan that needs most of my attention in that regard)
What are they asking for the car? Any pics?
Thanks,
R.

Can you let me know the trim and paint numbers of your car- looks exactly like mine (unfortunately my car's trim plate is not stamped with anything apart from a part no. for an FE Business Sedan body- a major repair having occured sometime in the past seems to be the consensus of oppinion).
Thanks,
R.
410  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Fe sedan rust repair parts on: August 09, 2005, 11:22:57 AM
Anyone have a Frame Front Tie Member and a LH Front Subframe assembly for sale?
411  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Rust repair query on: August 03, 2005, 08:07:40 AM
My latest FE project sedan has effectively lost about 2 inches of the left hand end of the Frame Front Tie Member and the front part of the LH Side Frame assembly just rearward from where the two join at right angles.
Also about 2 inches of the left hand end of the front floor crossmember is missing.

Query 1: Can these be repaired suitable for passing roadworthy test?
Query 2: If the answer to Q1 is no, does anyone have good rust free examples for sale? (I think Rare Spares do rust repair sections for the floor crossmember, or did).
Thanks,
R.
412  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Ryco No. 463 Oil Filter on: August 03, 2005, 07:30:17 AM
Thanks to Ken I have the elbow fitting I needed.
I still have a problem with the metal tube end of the braided hose and how I fit it into the threaded crankcase aperture. (see picture-hopefully)
413  Technical Board / Restoration Help / FE ute Shocks and Muffler on: June 29, 2005, 06:13:01 AM
Does anyone know of reasonably priced front shock absorbers to suit FE ute? Rare Spares want $150 each for the ones they stock! Shocked
Also, what is a good replacement (off the shelf) muffler for my very perforated current unit?
Thanks a lot.
414  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Ryco No. 463 Oil Filter on: June 08, 2005, 12:13:51 AM
Thanks Ken.
Does this mean that there are 2 flexible hoses used in the hook up? (I wondered why there was a 2nd one in the kit). I have a double flared bundy steel tube inlet line which is shown in the instructions sheet as coming off the tee fitting where the oil presure switch goes in and attaching to the oil fiter inlet opening? The flexible (braided) hose is shown going from the bottom (outlet) of the filter and into the block. As to how the metal tube end of this hose is physically held in place, I'm still in the dark. What stops it sliding off under oil pressure?
I will need to buy that elbow from you. Just let me know the total cost (incl. postage).
Thanks
R.
415  Technical Board / General Technical / Ryco No. 463 Oil Filter on: June 06, 2005, 09:48:42 PM
I have a remote oil filter for our grey motor, which is missing a vital fitting. Namely the 'R59-1/4 Elbow' which attaches the oil inlet pipe to the top of the filter body. Does anyone know if these are still available?
Also I have the original instruction sheet for fitting the filter, but can't work out how the Flexible hose ('L11D4') which has a cylindrical metal rod at one end, is attached. Does the metal rod end go into the motor or the filter? and how is this end secured? the No. 32 Dole nut & No. 12 connector fitting don't seem to hold it at all. Huh
Any help much appreciated.
Regards,
R.

417  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Wheel trim/hub cap removal on: May 31, 2005, 05:46:52 AM
What is the best way to remove hub caps from a special sedan (with dress rims fitted) without bending the trims to the ****house?
Thanks. Huh
418  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: Fe  Wagon on: April 11, 2005, 11:38:58 PM
Thanks for that.
Does it still have it's Vehicle i.d. plate fitted?
Is it a Special?
Does it have any doors or guards?
Tah,
R.
