So its been nearly a month already since I have been to the car and we... I should say Dino has ben running around trying to get the front shocks sorted to have the front wheels able to clear the guard. Started out with the front springs which were coil bound as they were not strong enough to hold the weight of the new engine, and the shocks supplied with the front end not having enough travel to wind the car up far enough for the wheels to clear the guards. The springs had 250lb written on them, but after getting them tested they came in at under 200lb. The next lot of springs we got were 340lb but still not enough travel to raise the car enough, and in the process found that 1 of the Avo Pro shocks was leaking. next step was to see if they could get reconditioned, and promptly found that no one was willing to touch the English brand. Except McDonald Bros. But the cost of reconditioning to a new pair was weighed up and decided to go with the QA1 shocks and set up with 400lb springs each side. Credit goes to Dino here as he must have spent over 16 hours on the road running back and fourth between Bacchus Marsh, Hillside and Thomastown after each time he found that the set up was again wrong... All of this for what should have been a simple process!! So end result is this... plus another month of dust on the car at the panel beaters.
So are these the shocks from Mcdonald bros,Im having the same problems with this same front end on my HR.

My wipers were fine in my FC i had a commodore one fitted to mine,Without a problem, It was also engineered and regoed with it.So there was not a problem with my wiper arms at all, And to my knowledge they are still fitted to it.
yeah mate, read your message, from what i remember we were talkin about wipers and i said i was running a sigma motor but it quit workin and you said you had a EK motor, the next week i came in and you had it there and you were saying you think the problem you had with your wipers was the arms, I said i wasn't sure what the combo was used with electric wiper but i had arms at home that came off FC's with electric wipers and you said ok, ill swap you the arms for the motor. when i got home i couldn't find the arms so i dropped the arms out of my other FC wagon and put them in the truck, the next week i came around and your roller door was shut, you weren't there, after that i wasn't workin for omikron anymore, i went out that way in the FC the week after looking for work and you must have been out again. i figured we both had FC's and would run into each other again and took the arms out of the car and sat them back on the front floor of the other FC were i just noticed they are still sitting. Since there wasn't a price mentioned i will see if i can piece together a wiper motor with the EK presslites i have around here and send it down, if i cant get one working i will let you know and we can sort out a alternative, i started this thread to see if anyone knew why this wiper motor was continuing to operate when switched off continuously beyond self park and think it would have been better to pm me, in future i don't use this forum very often so email me at fccool59@hotmail.com

do you still have the FC, i think last time i saw you, you had a HR ute and the v8 FC was going up for sale. [/quote Yep thats right i sold the FC and The HR ute, I now Have my Grand fathers one owner XT Falcon Ute,and HR Station wagon 5lt efi 5 speed When you get a chance i wouldnt mind you dropping money off to me for that wiper Motor
