121  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Supercharging on: October 30, 2002, 10:15:05 PM
One of the guys down south here is building an FC with a supercharged 202 that has a side mounted charger.

He plans to put it all under the bonnet thought.

He will be putting a holley on top, feeding into the supercharger and into a custom inlet manifold.

Last I saw he was still putting the engine together, and he still has to finish the car to put it into, but watch this space for pics when he finishes.

I will see if I can get any pics before the engine goes into the car

Last I heard Rare Spares where still working on the repro FC grill badge.  Haven't heard anything about boot badges.

Ken would be the best person to ask as he works closely with the guys at Rare Spares in Melb.

Followed Ken's advise and spoke with Peter at Hoppers Stoppers.

$95 for the cylinders and pads    Cheesy   Can't complain about that!!
And Peter wasn't stingy on the advise either.

Would recommend him to anyone in Melb.

Thanks Ken for the pointer

Would this work?

If I got a split system off an early Kingswood and run the front to the booster and then to the front brakes and the rear directly to the back brakes, as per the attached diagram.

Would that fix the problem or would it just be opening a whole new can of worms

I'll start investigating the port'ing valve first then.

Until then little one's car seat will have stay in the family wagon!    Cry
130  Technical Board / Modification Help / Rear Brakes with a HR disc brakes on: October 11, 2002, 08:41:01 PM
I'm having troubles with my rear brakes locking up.  I am running a HR disc brake front end (with booster) and a drum rear end from a HR that had drums all round.

A club member said that they thought the rear brakes from a disc brake car where different to those of a drums all round car.

Can anyone confirm and give me details?  Is there a mod I can do to my current rear setup to suit a disc front end?

It's been awhile since I looked at them (thought about buying the black one last Christmas).

they both were floating around the 3 to 4 k mark

White and red did not come with the plates, running a 179 from memory. (I may be confusing it with the cream and burgundy FC in the Pic though!)  A little rust.

Black is a stockie, used to be a daily driver, black and red interior, carpet, most of the outside chrome was painted black as well (door handles , park lights etc), a little bit of rust but nothing major.
Never got around to driving it though.

It's been awhile so don't take as gospel
Hope it helps

As one who is also dreaming of putting EFI on his 186, make sure you make lots of notes and take heaps of pics.

Alex  -  fantastic

Not only did you do it, you remembered to take photos to show other's how.  Something we all need to remember to do for projects of this nature.
