Hi Guys,

Have been sitting on this for about 3 months now and Fast Eddie for about a month I guess.

Started during cricket season, where I met a young bloke by the name of Linden, who decided that my van was alright and one night at training casually asked me to find him one for his first car. Reply came... Yeh right, they aren't that easy to get.

Well the next week at training I turned up and promtly told Linden that I found one for him... And to have a look on the net.
Introduced  him to Fast Eddie and let them sort it out.

About 3 months later and me riding his tail every week the deal still had not been done... Even though I had told him how good this car was.

I get a call from Lindens dad while on the way down to Jindabyne for the Nats asking for Fast Eddies number in which I abliged.

The next day the car had been sold... Bout time!!!

Not over yet...Linden saw that the car had been sold, and has been tripping over his bottom lip ever since, kicking tables, the cat, and sometimes even himself.

Well today the car turned up and I got the pleasure of driving the car to Linden's house and presenting him with his first Fc Panelvan...
Goes without saying the young bloke is pretty happy although he can't drive it for some months yet.

Personally it has been great to be a part of this, as I regard this fella quite highly and I trust willl look after the piece of history for many years ahead, and I wish him safe and happy driving.

All he needs now is some chest hair... Grin Grin Grin

Cheers
Jason.

I think it's great to see the younger generation taking an interest in these old cars, rather than following the crowd to their Hyundais, Lancers, etc.

Good onya Linden, I'm sure you'll get many, many years enjoyment out of the van.

Jason,
Thanks for sharing this story with us.

Cheers,

Graham

Jason & Linden,

I'm glad to see the van arrived safely and to everyone's satisfaction.

I actually had not been briefed on the situation, I only knew that it was a surprise.

I'd expected Linden would have received the van around Anzac Day, so I was puzzled to see his post pop up in Cars Wanted, at the beginning of May. "FC Van wanted - no rust buckets"

I kept thinking to myself, "gee, it wasn't perfect, but I'd explained that to his dad, calling it a rust bucket was pretty harsh..."

It all made sense when this thread was put up...

Hope you have many years happy motoring in it - I miss it already,

Regards

Edward

PS I hope you found the parts under the cargo floor - let me know if you need anything else.

When you say your have a garage sale to make some room your not mucking around. I usually just sell spare car parts, not the whole car. Grin
