Hey Remembermeok.......Jimmy here....Mate,the rego papers have arrived here, they are no good to you because they are in my name. You better contact the Transport dept and get it sorted....i think the noise you are hearing is just the normal sound she makes as the air is sucked into the carby through the Lynx filter, just make sure it is tight on the throat of the carby.....Cheers Jimmy

Because I have just purchased another toy(kawasaki 900 cruiser),wife has put foot down and, sadly,my beloved FE has to go! Car will come with full QLD rego, inspection certificate and Personalised plates.140 cubic inch red, three speed on column, brand new carpets, wide 13 inch wheels with plenty of rubber.Has some body and paint issues, but nothing major.Running single strommie, this car is in reasonable condition and needs the love that i simply can no longer afford.Car is situated on Tamborine mountain, which is about 20 minutes west of Movieworld on the Gold Coast.See pics in owners photos section, this forum, under jimmys57. I will post some more photos shortly. Asking $4500,but im willing to negotiate a little. If you are interested, please reply via this forum and we can talk further!............Cheers Jimmy

Is that the motor sitting up underneath the air cleaner???...or maybe the alternator.......or is that the motor sitting to the right of the alternator??..or is that the aircon....or is the motor in the boot?..Geez,what a shemozzle.......Regards Jimmy

I never knew a thing like this even existed! I suppose once up to speed it went ok,but that little rotary in that relatively heavy car must have made for rather uninspiring acceleration times.Still, what an interesting car it is.......and dont those wing mirrors look just dandy perched up there!..........Regards Jimmy

This has to be the saddest week for Australia in a long time.Just saw footage of Peter Brock driving that wonderful FX in England.Gees,a 138 doing 6000 Rpm,with a legend of Holden motor sport at the wheel. He will be long remembered as a true blue Aussie, and a Holden icon........Rest in peace Peter

16  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Bleeding Brakes! on: August 22, 2006, 08:46:04 AM
Hey Mike....air in the system usually means the pedal has a spongy, soft feel to it.It may well be a blockage,or a siezed up slave or master cylinder.Whatever it is,it dont sound too safe!...........Cheers Jimmy
17  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Bleeding Brakes! on: August 21, 2006, 11:56:38 PM
Hey Stinky.....im an ex brake mechanic, and it sounds like you still have air in the system. When we did the jobs in the shop,we always had two blokes doing the bleeding.Start at the wheel furthest from the master.Open up the bleed nipple, and get the other person to put their foot on the pedal, push it to the floor, and hold it down. You will get either air, air and fluid,or fluid only.Close the bleed nipple and let the pedal come back up.We sometimes took six or seven attempts at each wheel before it ran fluid only.Make your way around each wheel, working your way to the wheel closest to the master. This is time consuming and sorta messy, but we found it was the best method to make sure no air was in the system.Remember to keep topping up the master,or more air will get sucked back in!
        I hope this helps.......cheers jimmys57
