This is the new edition to my garage and one you'll see on many club runs.

Very nice Leon, and being a Business Sedan, it's rare too!

Good to see your patience paid off.

The car may not be green, but I certainly am - with envy, and I reckon I'm not the only one.  It looks like a really nice car.

What is under the bonnet?  There are plenty of hints that there will be mods under there - wheels, internal paintwork maybe, but no engine bay shots yet.

Do you know its history?  Was it a taxi?

As the people sang - tell me more, tell me more ...

Cheers

I was fascinated by this car when I first saw it for that exact reason - what was it used for?

Maybe a funeral car?

A government car of some sort?

I wouldn't think a fleet or salesmans type car as black doesn't strike me as a good colour for that purpose.

Needs stockies but Leon :-)

Many thanks Craig for the photos, Wow it hasn't changed in eight years.
The guy I bought the car from told me he had the car in his garage for the past six years.
As for the wheels I'm thinking wether to keep them or not, I would have to track down some original rims, then a set of good radials 175/75/R13 and a good set of HUD caps would suit the car I think.
I took the car on it's first club run to the last club meeting, it was raining and for the first time it didn't bother me, and it has electric wipers that worked very well.
I don't believe it was used as a taxi as it doesn't seem to be that worn in it's front and rear driving gear although at some time the engine has been replaced with a more powerful FB engine.
I'll post some photos of the engine bay tomorrow.
Thanks to all for you comments. Wink

A very tidy FC indeed.

Hasn't changed much in 21 years.
Here's a couple of pics of her at the 9th Street Machine Nationals in Wagga Wagga back in 1990.

Ed, Graham, I'm still deciding about the wheels.
Thanks Alex for those old photos, your right it hasn't changed, the only modern addition under the car was a stainless steel exhaust from the muffler back
Here  are some photos of the engine bay the day I picked it up.
Regards.
Leon.

Just checking this car out of yours Leon , mine was a dead ringer to this one minus the wheels I had stock ones ... I sold mine back in 88 to a bloke out Liverpool way who said he was going to do her up , not that it needed much doing up as it was in great condition ... The only repair I had to do to it was a fifty cent piece size of rust on I think the lower left guard area , which was plated and cleaned up by a mate at Granville Tafe ......
Does the car have a camping seat in it ? As mine did .. Went to the Blacktown drive inns with the Parramatta Club one Saturday and as a young dick thought I was pretty shit hot putting my seat back into a bed and watching the movie  Embarrassed
Anyway nice car , when I eventually get home will have a look through all my crap as thought I had some sort of paper work from all those years ago on the one I owned ...

Wink G'day Fred, looking under the back seat there are holes located through the main front rib where the front of the seat slides behind, were these holes made prior to the camping seat installation?
If these holes were required for the camping bed that makes it possibly your old car, Can you remember anything else about the car?
would be nice to get more information about the old FC.
You can phone me on 0418-251-566
Regards.
Leon.
