We were invited to see these rusty cars including a few Holdens while on the Vintage Caravan Mexican Tour of the VIC Goldfields.  They had just been moved to this location, and had already been ratted for parts.  And sorry Ken all the ID plates had been removed.

No 13 from the Orange Nationals?

If you fit a sedan or wagon seat in the ute, they dont have the sewn in bit to go over the parcel shelf.  I fitted a sedan seat to my first ute and it drove me mad picking up stuff that fell behind the seat without the parcel shelf bit.  Easy fix to sew one on.

66  General / General Board / Re: Newspaper Adverts on-line at Trove on: February 04, 2013, 09:13:33 AM
This one (below) using the advanced search option from The Australian Women's Weekly (1933 - 1982) Wednesday 21 May 1958 p 36 Advertising Illustrated

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/47508074

It took about two minutes to resize the page, print screen twice for both pages, crop, stitch them together (it was a full two page spread) and save it to my computer.

67  General / General Board / Re: Newspaper Adverts on-line at Trove on: February 04, 2013, 08:20:05 AM
There is a slide bar on the bottom RH corner to resize the page to fit your screen, then I do a print screen, copy that to photoshop crop it and save it to my computer.

To me that is the easiest and quickest.

You can search for any words that might be in the advert and in the left menu options you can select advertising to eliminate articles and family notices.

I use Trove for family history research, and have birth, marriage and death notices for many of my Rellies.

If you haven't visited Trove before, this is what a search for Holden Australias own car bought up.  There are loads of them.   Grin   Grin   Grin

I recently picked up a Fire Streak twin carb manifold and WEY allow rocker cover that has polished up a treat.

So I'm after a few things to add to those bits before putting them on my FC grey motor. I'm in Melbourne, but happy to pay for postage.

1. 2 x air cleaners to suit stromberg twin carbies.
2. linkages to connect the carbies

3. 2 x "H" rocker cover nuts
4. Chrome plated oil filler cap

5. Jack Mayer Headers, I know I'm dreaming ...... but if you don't ask ........ other brand headers considered.

77  For Sale and Wanted / Other Stuff Wanted / Re: EK seat on: December 01, 2012, 11:03:23 AM
The Ute bench seat is different from the sedan bench seat, not counting the ash tray etc..  The Ute bench seat has some vinyl that extends to cover the parcel shelf at the back.

I fitted a sedan seat many years ago and it was a pain ..... everything placed on the parcel shelf fell down behind the seat.   Angry
