Hi Guys,

I'm half way through a timing gear job on an EK wagon at the moment and when pulling out the lifters was horrified at the state of the contact faces.

The hardening has started to flake off very badly on more than half of them!

Must have something to do with cold starts and/or no oil?  (The owner of the car denies both of these possibilities)!

I have rebuilt (assembled) quite a few motors over the years and have always just used the best lifters that I could find in my parts collection and haven't had any trouble in this area myself but was wondering if new lifters are available or at least as new old stock?

Another option would be to have the old ones re-ground and re-hardened.
Has anybody had this done before?
How much would a full set cost?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Roll Eyes

Thanks,  Damon.
