Can any one tell me about the fe standards that came out with no blinkers, as i have an fe/fc  ?  ute at present that doesnt even have a hole in the  usual place the blinker arm would be, it has no mechanism for blinkers either, the hole has not been filled either. It is the first time I have come across this, was this normal practise back then or what. Does anyone have this in there vehicle.

Slim.

I'm pretty sure you'll find there's a part number for the indicator 'collar' part of the column to suit 215/217/219/2104/2106, and another one to suit 225/229.  Have you got a parts book?  Otherwise it's probably stamped on it. Compare it to one off a special and see.

I'll check my parts book when I get home and let you know if you like.

I know Leon's car has had indicators fitted, not sure about Gary's Biz Sedan.

cheers

I have checked the nasco master parts catalogue on page 71 but it only shows the one with blinkers. Maybe it is an fj one if thats at all possible. I will pull it off and get the part number off it as it is still in the vehicle THANKS

Hi slim,
The blanking collar [where the indicator arm would be] is original equipment as Ret says on every thing fe/fc except the special models. You could however buy a nasco '' indicator package'' from your holden dealer.
Fe's standards/ vans & utes had no indicator lights on the front from the factory and Fc's standards/ vans & utes had  ''indicators'' on the front but they on these models were called park light assemblies.

KInd regards Mick

Slim,

I did some more research last night on this for you.  (Normally I leave this sort of stuff to Ken, who can prob recite it from memory.)

OK.  Chapter and verse according to the Illustrated FE Parts Catalogue:
Quote

SWITCH ASSEMBLY RINGFE-2257405916
 SCREW Fillester hd.sl.mach.No 8-32 x 7/16"FE-225131966
WASHER Spring lock No 8 mediumFE-225121841

CONTACT SUPPORT SPACERFE-215,FE-2177405913
 SCREW Rd.hd.sl. machine No. 6-40 x 1" support to spacerFE-215,FE-217421885
WASHER Spring lock No. 6 mediumFE-215,FE-217131044

So long story short, the contact support spacer is the blank for the indicator switch assembly.

Note that the catalogue only refers to the three sedans because it was released in 1956, prior to the introduction of the other body styles.  And as Mick says, they were called park light assemblies because that was their function, but they doubled as indicators.  In contrast the FE had the parkers in the headlights themselves, so the indicator bodies were only fitted to cars that had indicators!

Hope that helps,

Mick neglected to mention his standard wagon has no indicators and has the blank fitted in the column.
Very amusing watching his long arm stick out the window every time he turns a corner.
